In order to maintain the continuity of Earth where we live , we must jointly conduct environmental preservation . However , before discussing about preservation , let's learn some terms such advance understanding of environmental , environmental damage , and so on .

The definition of the environment is everything that is around humans and affect people's lives either directly or indirectly . The neighborhood is divided into two ; biotic and abiotic environment . Biotic environment is the living environment , such as land , trees , and neighbors . While the abiotic environment includes objects not live like houses, buildings , and power lines .

Environmental Degradation and Environmental Conservation

Understanding the environment is a unitary space with all the objects and living things in it, including humans and behavior that affect the sustainability of the livelihood and well-being of humans and other living things . The environment includes ecosystems , social behavior , culture , and also the existing air .

 The environment can be damaged due to various factors . These factors may be natural factors , it could be caused by human negligence , and could also result from a combination of the two. Examples of environmental degradation , among others :

  •  Landslides caused deforested
  •  Forest fires due to illegal logging
  • tsunami
  • earthquake
  • hurricane
  • Poaching that led to the extinction of some endangered species
  • Marine pollution resulting in many animals and aquatic plants that can not survive
  • Accumulation of garbage in the river resulting in the water can not flow smoothly to overflow and cause flooding
  • Waste disposal at any place which resulted in the number of disease-carrying animals such as flies , rats , and mosquitoes

Environmental Degradation and Environmental Conservation

To avoid damage to the environment , humans must perform environmental conservation efforts . Some examples of efforts that can be done include:

  • Replant deforested
  • Increase the green area
  • Set disposal , management and recycling bins
  • Using the concept of " green building " when constructing buildings
  • Stop and avoid over-exploitation of natural resources
  • Providing strict sanctions against the perpetrators of pollution and environmental degradation
  • Doing the assessment of environmental impact ( EIA )
  • Teach and campaign for eco-friendly lifestyle to the community

Understand the environment and how to maintain its sustainability alone is still not enough . We must be able to apply it in our daily lives - today . We were born on Earth , life on Earth , and would die on Earth . Therefore , it is important for us to maintain the beauty and sustainability.
